Our client, a leading Telecommunications services provider of collocation, managed services, DWDM, TDM and Metro Ethernet network services, is seeking a Facilities Manager for its Network Operations and Collocation sites, located within Metro NYC-NJ region.  The position requires daily presence in Midtown and/or Downtown Manhattan.

Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of maintenance of multiple telecommunications, collocation and data center facilities.  

  • Manage 24/7/365 operations, including workforce management (Hire, Fire, Train, Motivate) of technical operations and project management teams.

  • The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the coordination of installation and equipment vendors, by managing and scheduling Inside Plant, Outside Plant, HVAC, AC/DC Power  upgrades and customer builds.

  • Team building, training skills and technical telecommunications and power systems knowledge are essential. Scheduling of plant program maintenance, customer installations, obtaining and reviewing vendor contracts and forecasting facility space and power growth are required.

Duties
·         Maintain critical AC/DC and Emergency power plant to guarantee facility uptime, for multiple facilities.
·         Maintain critical HVAC cooling plant to guarantee facility uptime, for multiple facilities.
·         Oversee the maintenance of facility surveillance and access control plant.
·         Maintain cleaning schedule for multiple facility appearances.
·         Oversee package logistics with Project Management and Facility Coordination teams.
·         Maintain security and enforce entry control restrictions for facility access to multiple sites.
·         Responsible for coordination of building management services, consisting of freight elevator reservations, restricted property access, customer access and ID card generation.
·         Request and walk-through future growth and customer builds requiring building management services.
·         Address and rectify any emergency maintenance facility issues by coordinating vendor or in-house team repair efforts.
·         Schedule customer notifications for planned or unplanned plant maintenance.
·         Interface and direct HVAC, Emergency back-up and Power vendors.
·         Prepare and maintain a Program Maintenance program for all facility power and HVAC plant.
·         Schedule vendor and in-house efforts to measure and monitor facility and customer AC and DC power consumption.
·         Engineer and plan power rolls to balance critical power plant, based upon amperage consumption of various plant.
·         Provide design and walk-through required in obtaining vendor proposals for Plant maintenance projects, repairs and customer installations.
·         Inspect vendor work for completeness, accuracy and code compliance.
·         Aid on-site and remote customers in solving emergency and growth related business needs.
·         Provide solutions for tech support and installation team members when facing non-routine project issues.
·         Advise tech support and installation team members in completing customer equipment and power installations.
·         Advise Sales Team on feasibility of new customer builds based upon power, space and application requirements.
·         Provide technical support for Sales team during customer tours conducted within the facility.
·         Attend customer meetings and conference calls to ensure that customer installation needs are met.
·         Forecast growing customer space and power needs and provide and implement appropriate measures.
·         Establish annual budgetary requirements for plant upgrades, tools and personnel additions.
·         Design reports which are necessary to better permit Operations and other departments / functions to achieve their objectives.
·         Design and Project Manage the build-out of additional facility space. Asbestos, Landmark Preservation, Acoustical requirements, DOB permits and Building management approvals are all part of the planning phases.
·         Design and Project Manage Power upgrades with respect to the build-out of additional facility space. Planning of Commercial power feeds, switch-gear, emergency generator power and fuel risers, UPS and DC power plant additions are included in power upgrades.
·         Recruit, interview, hire and train technical Operations team members.
·         Maintain orderly records, evaluate and document procedures, and assist in the maintenance, development and documentation of Operations policies.
·         Manage the day to day tasks of the NY/NJ Operations staff and prepare timely staff evaluations


Education, Experience and Skills requirements
 B.A./B.S. or minimum 7 years direct Telecommunications Service provider experience
Minimum of 6 years facility management, Network operations Management or Project Management in the Carrier market.
 Must be detail oriented with excellent communications, interpersonal and oral/written presentation skills. Must be able to manage staff and lead projects/teams independently.
Ability to mange multiple tasks simultaneously. Oversee regular hour and after hour plant maintenance.  Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel or other comparable spreadsheet tools. Proficiency with rest of Microsoft Office suite (Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Explorer) and or/equivalents.  Proven organizational ability and attention to detail a must.  Strong analytical skills.  Mst be a self starter, proactive, flexible, and able to work within and meet deadlines. Strong PC skills and a working knowledge of high end accounting packages.

Director, Product Management

  

Our client is a worldwide leader in the design and integration of VoIP/ IP telephony products and services for mission-critical applications.   They are currently seeking a Director, Product Management to lead a team of Product Managers in the development and delivery of world class voip product, network services and solutions.

  

Responsibilities

The Director will be responsible for the development, growth and product roadmap for the portfolio including VoIP, web and PC applications.  This will also include Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) offerings, as well as /Web Services integration with OEM, ISV and SaaS partners.   The Director of Product Management will be responsible for the strategy and execution of  a technology partner ecosystem, including the partner business development, opportunity identification, recruitment, contract negotiation and ultimate success of the joint ventures.

 

Identification of Market Opportunities.  Interviewing customer and sales reps to assess opportunities, risks and competitive landscape.  Strong business intelligence background essential for success in this function.  This process will result in the production of clear, complete and concise Market Requirement Documents (MRDs)

 

Product Direction and Development: The product management team will create product requirement documents (PRDs) to respond to customer and market needs, as defined in the MRDs. The team will work  with product development management (Engineering, software development, R&D, QA) to define the contents and delivery of ongoing product releases. 

 

The Director of Product Management will follow up with department heads to ensure product milestones (schedule, budget, resources) are met and the products are delivered to market as envisioned and on time.  The Director will report to Executive Management on progress in product development and delivery process.

Manage the firm's contractual commitments in support of customers and supplier contracts.

 

Sales Support:  Work closely with sales and pre-sales management and staff to capture new business, extend existing customer relationships, garner further information for product enhancements, features and pricing.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Bachelor's Degree.  Exceptional candidates without a degree will be considered/

MBA helpful, but not required.

Strong leadership profile, with record of consistent success.  

High expectations, "lead from the front" personality type.

8-10 years of product management experience, preferably in a IP networking, IP Telephony/ VoIP, Contact Center, Trading software, Trading platforms, Market Data providers, Web Services, Computer Telephony Integration (CTI), Web Services product vendor, service provider, market data provider or systems integrator.

Proven success in managing the entire product development life cycle including product launches, end-of-life, etc.

POSITION SUMMARY

You will be responsible for designing and developing automated tests and testing procedures, while working with both the inhouse and offshore development teams. You will have strong lab management experience. You will keep your team apprised of current trends within the test automation tools market and make recommendations that will improve / enhance testing automation.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for designing and developing a cost effective, long-term automation strategy promoting reusable components, low maintenance costs, high efficiency and scalability.

·         Design, research and develop components of test architecture.

·         Design an infrastructure to validate the requirements, functionality and performance goals for the particular product

·         Identify the bottlenecks in the system during architecture and design

·         Interact with project management, other engineering teams, and other stakeholders as appropriate.

·         Develop practices and select tools to facilitate test-driven development with a high-degree of test automation for a highly scalable, mission-critical communications solutions used in trading floors

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Required:

·         Minimum of 7 years of recent experience in the full life cycle of product development environments in planning, code development and implementation efforts, utilizing industry standard performance automation tools such as Quick Test Professional (QTP) and Load Runner.

·         At least 3 years experience working with offshore resources, preferably in a lead role

·         Solid understanding of UNIT, white-box, functional, system, performance, technical and operational testing and tools utilization.

·         3+ years experience in building complex functions and methods in a product development environment.

·         3+ years experience in developing simulator applications that drive physical devices that are subsequently controlled by an industry standard automation tool, such as QTP and LoadRunner

·         3+ years performance analysis experience; full life cycle test, writing test plans, developing test strategies, implementing test strategies, stress testing, performance testing, endurance testing.

·         Experience in parallel development and continuous integration, like Agile.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Ability to analyze and balance facts, priorities, and alternatives to make sound decisions and recommendations.

·         Ability to evaluate past decisions to improve effectiveness of future decisions and development efforts.

·         Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to all levels of the organization.

·         Outstanding problem solving skills, including the ability to look for non-standard problem solutions, this is key to this position.

Our client, a leading IT Managed Services Provider, is seeking to build its Network Operations Center team, and is currently hiring a Senior Network Operations Specialist.

The Senior Network Operations Specialist will perform on-going network monitoring of all aspects of our client's managed network services. This includes, but is not limited to all video, data, transport, internet, ATM and Ethernet services. This position is shift-aligned which will include rotating through night, weekend and off-shift work.

Duties:

• Monitoring and surveillance of the customer and network infrastructure, including SIP clients, desktops, servers, routers, firewalls, VPN and IDS appliances

• Customer interface for service activation, software updates, trouble resolution.

• Vendor (network, 3rd party field service, etc.) interface for problem resolution.

 • Open and close trouble tickets

• Ability to quickly isolate faults within the network and perform basic trouble shooting • Answer customer trouble calls and communicate status

• Prompt escalation of issues to Lead Operations Technicians and Management, if necessary. •

Requirements •

Knowledge of Networks: Sonet, ATM, PSTN, Ethernet and IP.

Knowledge cisco IP Infrastructure essential, especially Cisco CUCM (call manager), Cisco GSR 12000 with SBC blade, cisco Telepresence endpoints and bridging products, CT MAN, CT Rooms.

Knowledge of VoIP, SIP, FTP and soft client trouble shooting 

Highly motivated, self-starter. Adaptability essential.

Strong technical aptitude. Fast learner.

5-7+ years experience in a network operations center, help desk, customer service, service provisioning role.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Technical certification such as MCSE, CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CVE, CTS-I, CTS-D,  A+ etc. very helpful.

Strong communications skills essential.
