| Published Description: | Our client, a leading Telecommunications services provider of collocation, managed services, DWDM, TDM and Metro Ethernet network services, is seeking a Facilities Manager for its Network Operations and Collocation sites, located within Metro NYC-NJ region. The position requires daily presence in Midtown and/or Downtown Manhattan. Responsibilities Responsible for all aspects of maintenance of multiple telecommunications, collocation and data center facilities.
Duties · Maintain critical AC/DC and Emergency power plant to guarantee facility uptime, for multiple facilities. · Maintain critical HVAC cooling plant to guarantee facility uptime, for multiple facilities. · Oversee the maintenance of facility surveillance and access control plant. · Maintain cleaning schedule for multiple facility appearances. · Oversee package logistics with Project Management and Facility Coordination teams. · Maintain security and enforce entry control restrictions for facility access to multiple sites. · Responsible for coordination of building management services, consisting of freight elevator reservations, restricted property access, customer access and ID card generation. · Request and walk-through future growth and customer builds requiring building management services. · Address and rectify any emergency maintenance facility issues by coordinating vendor or in-house team repair efforts. · Schedule customer notifications for planned or unplanned plant maintenance. · Interface and direct HVAC, Emergency back-up and Power vendors. · Prepare and maintain a Program Maintenance program for all facility power and HVAC plant. · Schedule vendor and in-house efforts to measure and monitor facility and customer AC and DC power consumption. · Engineer and plan power rolls to balance critical power plant, based upon amperage consumption of various plant. · Provide design and walk-through required in obtaining vendor proposals for Plant maintenance projects, repairs and customer installations. · Inspect vendor work for completeness, accuracy and code compliance. · Aid on-site and remote customers in solving emergency and growth related business needs. · Provide solutions for tech support and installation team members when facing non-routine project issues. · Advise tech support and installation team members in completing customer equipment and power installations. · Advise Sales Team on feasibility of new customer builds based upon power, space and application requirements. · Provide technical support for Sales team during customer tours conducted within the facility. · Attend customer meetings and conference calls to ensure that customer installation needs are met. · Forecast growing customer space and power needs and provide and implement appropriate measures. · Establish annual budgetary requirements for plant upgrades, tools and personnel additions. · Design reports which are necessary to better permit Operations and other departments / functions to achieve their objectives. · Design and Project Manage the build-out of additional facility space. Asbestos, Landmark Preservation, Acoustical requirements, DOB permits and Building management approvals are all part of the planning phases. · Design and Project Manage Power upgrades with respect to the build-out of additional facility space. Planning of Commercial power feeds, switch-gear, emergency generator power and fuel risers, UPS and DC power plant additions are included in power upgrades. · Recruit, interview, hire and train technical Operations team members. · Maintain orderly records, evaluate and document procedures, and assist in the maintenance, development and documentation of Operations policies. · Manage the day to day tasks of the NY/NJ Operations staff and prepare timely staff evaluations Education, Experience and Skills requirements B.A./B.S. or minimum 7 years direct Telecommunications Service provider experience Minimum of 6 years facility management, Network operations Management or Project Management in the Carrier market. Must be detail oriented with excellent communications, interpersonal and oral/written presentation skills. Must be able to manage staff and lead projects/teams independently. Ability to mange multiple tasks simultaneously. Oversee regular hour and after hour plant maintenance. Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel or other comparable spreadsheet tools. Proficiency with rest of Microsoft Office suite (Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Explorer) and or/equivalents. Proven organizational ability and attention to detail a must. Strong analytical skills. Mst be a self starter, proactive, flexible, and able to work within and meet deadlines. Strong PC skills and a working knowledge of high end accounting packages. |
