Provide technical direction and support for the Market Data and trading platforms for Global Equity business users and applications in North America. Partner with market data users, technology staff and management to ensure high quality and availability of market data and messaging platforms.

 

Primary Objectives:

  • Deploy and support Market Data Exchange environment for the North American global Equities business, with a focus on the US markets.
  • Provide project planning for relocations, systems installations and disaster recovery.
  • Ensure documentation on all systems in use for production and disaster recovery and regulatory purposes.
  • Ensure production problems, bugs, system problems/changes are documented and requests are acted upon promptly. Keep Senior Management advised of situations that may compromise agreed deliverables and/or affect production systems.
  • Responsible for the dissemination of daily outages related to market data. Assess outages to distribute notification to the correct audience.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to staff members regarding Direct Exchange feeds and all other market data applications.
  • Participate in the evaluation of test results ensuring that system changes accurately meet business requirements and process service criteria, fit into the technical environment and that existing operations are not adversely impacted

 

Job Requirements:

Technical Skills

  • Hands on knowledge of NYSE Technologies (Wombat), Celoxica, Exegy, Redline, Reuters RDFD and/or other low latency Direct Exchange feed handlers and distribution platforms.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux, Windows, Networking.
  • Knowledge of low latency Messaging protocols and the associated software components and APIs (Solace, 29West LBM, Tibco RV, etc.).
  • Worked with Intel, Sparc, Opteron hardware to support Linux and UNIX operating systems.
  • Worked with low latency networking solutions (Infiniband, 10GbE).
  • Knowledge of shell scripting in Bourne shell and Perl.
  • Knowledge of systems monitoring and capacity planning technologies for low latency environments (Hawk, ITRS, TipOff, etc.)
  • Knowledge Exchange Data feeds provided by the main North American Equity and Options Exchanges (NYSE, Nasdaq, OPRA, CME, TSX, etc.) and the technologies used to deliver those feeds in both client and co-located facilities.
  • Experience of underlying networking and server technologies used in low latency infrastructures (Infiniband, 10GbE, Linux, TCP/UDP Offloading cards, etc.)

 

Business Knowledge

  • Capital Markets business, particularly the Equity businesses.
  • Market Data concepts: Data feeds, stock exchanges and vendor reporting requirements.
