Role:                                        Sr. Business Analyst

Hiring Company Industry:           Investment Banking

Expected Compensation:            $140K Base + Bonus

Location:                                   New York, NY (Downtown)

 

ROLE: Sr. Business Analyst (Middle/Back Office/ Risk / IT)

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Sr. Business Analyst will drive the facilitation and integration of business processes within a fast paced environment. The person will be an integral part of the technology team focused on projects and support of middle and back office systems.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Works with business to understand workflow and gaps.
  • Translates and documents into business and functional requirements and system current / future state architectures
  • Works with Business on User Acceptance Testing and signoff
  • Works with developers in troubleshooting any system failures or discrepancies.
  • Works with business to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Liaise with vendors on production related issues including follow up to completion
  • Evaluate new features and functionality available in upcoming releases
  • Responsible for the definition and execution of regression test plans to assist in implementation of bug fix and upgrade releases
  • Maintain knowledge base of past and open issues with systems
  • Evaluate and create requirements for custom user reports
  • Manage queue of reporting/enhancement requirements from user base
  • Accountable for providing leadership and independent initiatives in facilitating and conducting information gathering structured documentation and presentation of findings

 

COMPETENCIES / SKILLS:

  • Candidate must be perceived as a business partner.
  • Must have minimum 7 years Information Technology experience in the Fixed Income sector supporting middle/back office operations
  • Must have proficiency in business analysis, documentation and presentation tools
  • Experience with Swaps, Futures, Rates, Credit and Derivatives desirable
  • Must have experience with information systems development or implementation in a client service oriented environment
  • Will have strong oral and written communication skills along with strong execution skills
  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, conflict management and negotiation skills
  • Work independently on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Detail oriented and able work under pressure in a fast paced global environment
  • Personal computer aptitude, including proficiency in MS Office and Visio

 

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:

  • 10+ years experience at an investment bank.
  • Significant business analysis experience in a global multi-group environment
